FUN, LEARNING AND ACHIEVEMENT...

NOT JUST FOR FARMERS

COUNTY OFFICERS 2017/18

STEVE ROGERS

COUNTY CHAIRMAN 2017/18

I first got involved in YFC when I was just 13. I joined Woolhope Club and was soon thrown into all sorts of competitions, including the infamous Obstacle Race, which included apple bobbing followed by "find the sweet in the flour using your face".

My inability to say no has led me to take on many roles in YFC, from being a Club Representative on the Junior Forum, to Chairman of Hartpury College YFC, Herefordshire County Competitions Chairman and now County Chairman!

I have an excellent team of County and Club Officers behind me this year, and I aim to build on the key part that makes YFC better than all other Youth organisations: Run by the members, for the members!

LISA LEGGE

COUNTY VICE CHAIR &

EVENTS CHAIR 2017/18

At the age of 13, I couldn’t wait to join Pencombe Young Farmers. Over the years I have met many people and have made friends for life.

I have had many roles within the club, including Club Secretary and have enjoyed the opportunity to experience the wide variety of events, activities and competitions that Young Farmers have to offer.

I am really looking forward to the challenge that this year brings, as well as the years ahead. I am looking forward to encouraging members to take part and have fun in all aspects of YFC; it is not all about winning, it is the taking part and having fun that counts.

VICKI STANFORD

COMPETITIONS CHAIR 2017/18

I’ve been a member of Woolhope YFC for 12 years, I’ve held a number of Club positions over the years, from Junior Leader to Chairman and to my current position as Treasurer.

Last year I was HFYFC County Promotions Chairman and this year I have taken on the role of County Competitions Chairman.

Many of you will have also seen me at YFC events with my camera in hand capturing photos over the last couple of years. Outside of Young Farmers I enjoy walking in the Countryside and of course photography!

MEG HADLEY

PROMOTIONS CHAIR 2017/18

I have been in Pencombe Young Farmers since I was 14. I have been Club Secretary and am currently Club Treasurer. Young Farmers has been a great way of meeting new friends and getting to try out new things! One of the new things I have tried is Tug of War and because of Young Farmers, I was lucky enough to represent Wales in the World under 23 Tug of War Championships in 2017!

I am currently County Chairman of Promotions and want to promote all the good things that HFYFC do in and around the County. If any Club achieves anything, it doesn’t matter how big or small, please send it across.

I am looking forward to the rest of my competing years and the years that follo this, as YFC never leaves!

LUCY AMOS

TRAINING OFFICER 2017/18

I have been a member of Welsh Newton Young Farmers for nearly 10 years. I have achieved a lot here, from competing at Panto week to representing Herefordshire at National level for Cookery. YFC has allowed me to make new friends from all around.

I have held various roles from Club level to County, starting off as a Junior Leader for Welsh Newton and County Junior Forum Vice-Chairman before having a few years away in Oxford where I was Witney YFC Secretary. When I moved back to Welsh Newton I was Club Secretary for 2 years.

Whilst I am now County Training Officer I hope to help HFYFC members become more confident and provide training in areas that will help them not only now but also in the future.

MORGAN REYNOLDS

JUNIOR FORUM CHAIR 2017/18

From aged 10, I have been a member of Hereford Young Farmers, and since then have been Junior Club Leader and Chairman. To me, Young Farmers is all about building confidence, making friends and trying new things. Since joining Young Farmers I have attempted: stand up comedy, flower arranging, live stock judging, cookery, woodwork, cake decorating, photography, performing on stage and everything in between.

I am currently Junior Forum County Chairman and want to ensure members who are under 18 have their voice heard in the County, as well as getting other under 18's interested in Young Farmers and everything we have to offer.
